Vircator - built sub-scale for testing.
7) The Thunderbolt System is built by the Titan Corporation (now called L-3 Technologies) rated at 32 MegaJoules of energy. One megajoule (MJ) is equal to one million joules, or approximately the kinetic energy of a 2,200 lb vehicle moving at 100 mph (161 km/h). 1984 - 1989

9) Strategic Defense Initiative launches about 24 to 30 satellites into geosynchronous orbit with the Thunderbolt System (Vircator/Reltron): 1987 – 1992.
10) The 2nd Space Wing at Schriever Air Force Base takes operational control of the Air Force Satellite Control Network beginning in October 1987. The Air Force Satellite Control Network was previously located in Sunnyvale, California - the home of Lockheed Missiles and Space Company (LMSC).
11) Targeted Individual, Harlan Girard, reports first microwave attacks from satellite, 1987.
12) 50th Space Wing is activated at Schriever Air Force Base, 30 January 1992, replacing the 2nd Space Wing.
13) In July 1992, the US Government claims the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) program was canceled. What this really means – it is now fully operational. The current Vircator Microwave Weapons have been measured at 3920 - 3935 MHz. The FCC frequency allocation table confirms this is a satellite-to-ground frequency.
14) These clips from Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) magazine show that anyone can purchase the GPS technology that is accurate to less than 1 centimeter. You can even buy it for your iPad.

D. Price, et all, Titan Corporation
"The Titan Corporation has been developing directed energy technologies since the early 1980s. Over this time Titan has provided advanced power supplies for electromagnetic gun and laser research while making broader contributions in the field of high-power microwaves (HPM). Titan's HPM work expanded from initial efforts fielding and operating the fist gigawatt-level oscillators for susceptibility test applications, to research and development maximizing the peak and average output powers and overall efficiency realized from such systems. As interest in HPM technology has spread globally, Titan has leveraged this core competency and provided the HPM equipment for nearly all of the major European effects test facilities. Titan's current interests focus on compact, efficient and reliable directed energy weapon systems and the advanced subsystems and components that enable the same."
Note: Picture (a) & (b) When reading this article, pay attention to Page 2, Figure 1(a). These are supposedly the Thunderbolt systems which has been "decommissioned". This image appears to show at least 8 metal-framed crates with cylindrical objects inside. I would estimate the metal frames at 30" by 30" by 10 feet long, and the cylinder inside at about 30" in diameter. In part (b) of Figure 1, this is also supposedly the Thunderbolt System, and there appears to be about 36 metal-frame cases, with cylinders inside. These cases appear to be about the same size. The U.S. Government claims these were "decommissioned," but the lie is clearly exposed here. There are no components in a Railgun, that have 8 large cylinders. What might be deduced from these images is - Part (b) shows the Thunderbolt Systems ready to be shipped to Kennedy Space Center for assembly into satellites, and then launched into geosynchronous orbit. If this is correct, then we can deduce that about 24 satellite weapons were originally launched in the 1987 - 1992 period, along with 6 spares.
Railgun Story Debunked - These pictures are from the article. (a) supposedly shows the 32 MJ Thunderbolt Systems which have been "decommissioned." (b) also supposedly shows the same equipment that was sent to England and set up in a Railgun Test Facility. This is obvious disinformation. There are no large, round cylinder components in a Railgun. If there are 36 cases in the (b) image, then we can deduce that about 30 satellite weapons were launched initially, along with 6 spares. With 24 to 30 satellites in geosynchronous orbit, it is possible to hit almost any ground target, anywhere in the world. These Thunderbolt Systems became operational in 1987 - 1992. And this is confirmed by the reports of Harlan Girard, starting in 1987. Yes, there is a Railgun Test Facility in England, but it was not built using Vircator cylinders.
